Got new modem software other day, so maybe it will work better. Thanks for words of encouragement. Am doing really well in sobriety at the moment. Living one day and once in awhile a few more in thought, at a time. Lots of good happening. On Feb 01 I will have 7 months of clean living. It is hard to believe after 33 years of boozing. Also on Feb 01 I will in my own way celebrate the day I left my lover of fifteen years and our son, age 14, to attempt to begin a life of recovery. The year was full of anger, grieving, hurts, drunks, suicidal etc. etc. She is still active which I can not control, but worry for my son. I get to see him every couple of weeks and we are talking lots. Our relationship has always been strong, as is our love. He talks to me about mom but he is struggling to make his own decisions with guidance. Anyway I think I got a casual job, haven't worked for 2 years. Going to 3 meetings a week. I started a gay group last Sept. when I got out of Rx and it is going well. Life has ups and downs but I feel more whole each passing day. I was asked also to give a talk at the university on addiction and lesbian women-Feb 07. Really excited about it. Not sure if I am tthe right person but will tell my story and answer what I can. I have been researching stats but find little to none in this specific area. Gotta go, Where do you live? Just interested as to how far away you are and admire this technology. Talk soon. In a message to me you wrote: RW> Sounds good ... until we cross paths with those who RW> change the word "choose" RW> to "impose" ........ ;-) If I came across that way, you're right... I was wrong. I don't impose my views on others... at least not intentionally. There was much of my post you didn't quote... where I shared my experience with the women I sponsor... I don't "require" them to do as I do... most of them do introduce themselves as alcoholic/addicts. I kind of want AA to survive and believe that if it falls apart it will be from within... the meetings in this area have declined (of course, my opinion) I just don't hear as much about the problem/the solution... in the few years I've been around, the message of hope seems diluted. I'm just trying to pass on what was given to me. I'm doing the best I can... I'm still fumbling around with the method of "transmitting" this message. I still feel new to recovery in so many ways and I often still "lose my way." My intentions behind the message were to share that everyone with those feelings doesn't ram them down someone's throat... and seems I came across exactly like that. :( All I can say is I'll add this to my experience and try to learn from it. Thank you for pointing this out to me, Rich. I'll try to be more careful with the tone of my messages. Maybe reread my posts when they're concerning something about which I have strong feelings. Along with the singleness of purpose I also cherish the freedom we're given... that no one can "kick us out" for anything we think, do, or say. I don't think AA needs police and wouldn't want to be one if they did! :) I hope I'm not the first to tell you today -----------------------I__L_O_V_E__Y_O_U__!----------------------- (((Rich))) Lynda --- Maximus/2 3.00 * Origin: Enlightened Board (703) 370-9528 (1:109/615) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 231 RECOVERY Ref: D1Z00009 Date: 01/28/96 From: KURT J. Yeah, I was pretty well goofed up emotionally for a few days afterwards. I have a feeling that I am being used by her, though maybe not intentionally. I mean she wants out of her relationship, doesn't want to be alone and needs someone as a sounding board. I think that once she is strong enough to feel that she can make some decisions regarding relationships, that she will begin to push me out of the picture, too. Actually, it is already starting to happen in some ways. I may even save myself the big let down and let her go, so that I might set my sights on eventually finding someone who doesn't have that kind of stuff to deal with. The RA>literature is still a little thin on the subject. The stuff made out of grapeseeds seems to work a little bit better. I am now taking the following for the arthritis which I know is the result of a badly damaged immune system: Grape seed antioxident (NOW brand) 60 mg. Yucca-AR (Nature's Way) 425 mg. * Aspirin (enteric coated) 500 mg. Cayenne (Nature's Way) 450 mg. * Echinacea (Nature's Way) 380 mg. * The * means I take two of these daily. I also take 30 mg. of CoQ10 a day. If you have any ideas on improving this, please let me know. I have cut down most of the pain, now get pain in the left knee when I either forget the pills in the morning (and I resent having to take them!) or I eat something that I know I shouldn't, such as tomatoes. It seems to be trial and error on what we use for antioxidents. And the active ingredient in the wine so much touted lately is the PCOs in the pycnogenol or the grape seed preparation. * SLMR 2.1a * A Friend: Someone who like you even after they know you! --- JCQWK * Origin: The Moody Blues BBS, Graham, WA (360) 893-3101 (1:138/155) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 231 RECOVERY Ref: D1^00002 Date: 01/29/96 From: JANE KELLEY Time: 09:59am \/To: ELAINE LOVELESS (Read 1 times) Subj: Question?
