"what is conference disapproved"? Have not heard the concept before. I (not AA) do quote chapter and verse, just to keep myself straight. Left to myself, I am capable of "self will run riot". To counter to possibilities of "self will", I seek the wisdom of those that traveled this road before me. What 12 step programs share is: "Experience, Strength & Hope". The books are the historical documentation of the 12 step program's "experience". Without it, we would be doomed to repeat the mistakes and failures of our predecessors. Re: "outta here".
