William The name you used sounds familer, but I don't think that I've ever had any of that kind. I have had great success with hornwort, giant val., bacopa, crypt plants, and a red mellon sword. The types of plants that will do good are determined by your water, and light conditions. PH, hardness, temp., types, and amount of fish, and iron are all important. A while ago I posted a message about it, but never had a reply. My question is, how big a piece of zuchinni does one use??? I tried some very thin slices, and boiled them, but they made their way slowly but surely into the filter. MS> thanks in advance for any advice :) How hot is hot depends on the fish kept, some like it in 80s others in upper 70s. A 10 gal can heat up faster then a larger one, and I have to wonder if your tank is near a window/s if it is the sunlights heating it up, if not then you need keep house at a proper temp, all the time not too cool, not too warm. 24 hr air cond. You probably have less temperture change if moved to a 20 or 30 gal tank. ... Boil the whole thing, and freeze what you don't use. Then you can drop them in straight from the freezer. My plecos will camp out on top of the slice, so sometimes I'll throw in an extra one for the barbs to nibble on. Robby --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: Red Shift BBS ... Snellville, Ga. ... I don't have really fine gravel, at least, not the sort of gravel I see plants actually planted in at the fish store, so not sure I could grow something that needed to be planted.
