From the description that you gave, it sounded like what everyone here calls "ID Sharks". What made me think of this was the fact that you said they bounce off the side of your fish tank. My ID sharks did this quite often, usually scaring the other fish in the aquarium. I saw large ID sharks in the store once, they were a little over a foot in length. Pretty ugly looking things when they get that size too. My Id sharks always seemed friendly, but they were just small so... I was told when they are larger they'll eat guppies. I hoped this helped, I don't no much else about them, mine were so boring I gave them away (they never swam - just layed on the bottom) Talk to you later, Shawn Vanderburgt --- PCBoard (R) v15.21/5 * Origin: Air Search & Rescue - Toronto - (416)-259-0729 1:250/674 (1:250/674) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 229 AQUARIUMS Ref: DEL00016 Date: 10/16/96 From: RON MAGED Time: 07:09am \/To: SUSAN LEPRI (Read 4 times) Subj: Re: PH > Geez...someone besides me know about Wardley's Bullseye? Unfortunately I have _extremely_ hard water, around 540ppm (or 30 DH, I believe). I however don't have any Cichlids, and I don't plan on getting any. Reason for not going with the Cichlids is, I have some fish that I think will be killed by them if I do put some in the tank. I've tried different ways to soften the water, softener pillow, Tap Water Purifier, but I really haven't had much success of getting soft water. I've seen another product, Tank Soft, (I think that's the name). I was curious, is this any good....or would I be wasting my $$$ again. I really don't want to go to an R.O. unit, too expensive...all around, cash & wasted water. Though one of the local stores is selling RO water, $0.29 per gallon. I don't think I want to buy my water either. Any and all suggestions are welcome. :) Scott BTW, the tank is 37 gallons. PH is around 7.0 - 7.2 (possibly up to 7.4 at times). ... I think the most concern is they don't get eaten by the other fish in your tank! As far as eating for them. They'll eat the fine flake food for guppies and they will be just fine! I have found in the past, that it seems the more fuss you make the worst things can get if you know what I mean? Bye bye!
