How can I have Access2/7 duplicate all or some of the fields in a table automatically? I know that Ctrl-quote or Ctrl-Doublequote will duplicate the previous field, but suppose I have a table with twenty fields, and seventeen of them are generally unchanged from one record to the next (poor design of a database, I know, but it's a legacy system). How can I tell Access "Whenever I start a new record, i want those seventeen field values duplicated automatically from the last record I was in"? Thanks in advance for any hints, suggestions or tips. Markus, since you are from Germany, you probably use the german version of ACCESS. In the example database "BEISPIELLOeSUNGEN.MDB" you will find appropiate API-Calls. Take a look at the module "modNordwindVerknuepfungenAktualisieren" And since you are from Germany, why not try out the german ACCESS echo ACCESS.GER Gude Shapoor --- CrossPoint v3.11 R * Origin: Kites are born to die in the sky (2:2442/6001.5) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 226 WINDOWS ACCESS Ref: E5K00000Date: 05/12/97 From: MARKUS WAGNER Time: 05:36pm \/To: SHAPOOR ENGINEER (Read 3 times) Subj: Access 95 and GetOpenFileName Moin Shapoor! I think some of the documented API-Services are really Macros, and the real services are followed by 'A' or 'B'.
