Well, I've been a FidoNet Moderator as well as a Sysop since the early 80's and have never seemed to have that problem. I think you will also find that todays Moderators are a lot more liberal in their approach these days as Fido has lost many many folks to the Internet and a moderator/sysop is generally very appreciative for regular users regardless of their topic... -> What we over here call: yobos. That would be one of the questions -> that I would ask him. If you wait for an "expert" to advise you, you will be an old man before you get the information you are looking for. I suggest you go to the library or book store and either loan a book about birds and genetics or subscribe to one of the many bird magazines on the market today. Over the years I've subscribed to several and have learned much valued information such as what I mentioned above. Not being a genetics expert is one thing but I do consider myself well read and with my years of experience (lifes best teacher) I think I have a pretty good perspective. And if you saw my birds, your conclusion would be that hey this guy is doing something right... Ask Rich Veraa this question..he is as close an expert on birds than any one I know around here... --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: CrimeBytes:Take A MegaByte Out Of Crime! In general, yes, but I can quote a recent example. A very popular echo over here is "penpal", and a few weeks ago I was trying to establish a link with a guy in the South west of England, but were having problems due one of his local sysopps not having his mail flagged properly. We were exchanging a few messages discussing how we could get the mail flow running properly and suddenly I got a sarcastic netmail from the moderator, which in turn, put me up on my high horse and I let rip at him with both barrels, saying how surprised I was that there was such restrictions in a PENPAL echo. He still wouldn't admit he was in any kind of error though. ->> What we over here call: yobos. JR> I guess these yobos (a breed of hobo)will steal you blind, eh. Mine is RAIL_UK which deals with all technical aspects of railroads including preservation. Unfortunately, it's not on the world backbone, but if I had enough requests for it outside the UK, I'd have to look into how to export it. As the title says, I have questions about cockatoo poop. :-p Does anyone have any experience with Moluccans and how often and how much they poop? This one I have seems to be producing an aweful lot of it and I have no idea if it's normal or not. It looks like it's doing it five times each day and it seems like a lot of poop. The color varies from white and brown to white and black and sometimes is all brown. I had the bird at an avian vet last week and the vet says the bird is healthy as far as she could determine. I was giving the bird half an apple each day and I have stopped doing that for now, fearing it's giving it diaharrea, but I don't know. Any info would be appreciated. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- * Origin: The North Star * V34/H16 (410)974-9305 (1:261/1108) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 225 PARROTS Ref: F3H00001 Date: 03/11/98 From: RICH VERAA Time: 08:57pm \/To: PETE HOPPING (Read 1 times) Subj: M2 Books??? Like a contented human two-year-old singing RV> to herself. Exactly! That's exactly how it seems! She's doing this with her facial feathers fanned over her beak. I understand that that behavior is in some contexts a submissive thing and in other contexts a friendly sign or one of contentment. She's got a really sweet disposition and I'm not the least regretful over getting her, although having to vacumn the floor around the cage three times per day is a bit much. (heh...) She's knocking some of her food out of the cup and plays with the litter I put in the tray at the bottom of the cage. I expected the mess, though, so it doesn't bother me. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- * Origin: The North Star * V34/H16 (410)974-9305 (1:261/1108) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 225 PARROTS Ref: F3I00001 Date: 03/12/98 From: JERRY RUDOFF Time: 09:15pm \/To: DEREK BRICE (Read 1 times) Subj: Budgerigars -> A "Yobbo" is a nickname for a young male, usually a teenager, who -> is bored with life in general, so rather than find something useful -> to do, they go around, smashing or wrecking things for fun.
