Hi Cherane, I caught a part of it a second time- it really was great, but way too short, as Fran remarked. We need a whole cable CHANNEL devoted to parrots. I think the Nature show would be a good thing to share with novice parrot owners, to give them an idea of the intelligence and need for mental stimulation of their baby parrot. One of my favorite parts showed the thick billed parrots they are raising and trying to release in the Chiricahua Mts. in Arizona. It seems that parrots learn more of their behaviors than once thought, and they are having huge problems with the survival of domestically raised birds. The wild caught are faring much better. The forests will not be preserved if we Also is a point I believe we spoke about before, I remember when 15 years ago the whole idea of captive breeding Amazon parrots seemed to be almost impossible according to a lot of people. But after it became appearant that there would be no more imported, people worked harder to try to get breeding pairs set up and breeding successfully (necessity is the motherhood of invention). Now I am a little concerned that if they start flowing in again there may be less incentive to captive breed. It may once again be more economic to buy imports for resale then to grow your own, I personally think this would be a setback to aviculture. I would hope maybe they would stick to adolescent birds instead of babies or older birds. Babies could cause a sag in the captive raised market, and taking older birds would seem to be like taking the natural breeders out of the wild.. What do you think? They are still unique for themselves not their breed. Their PN> hybrid status doesn't have a thing to do with how smart they are.Well PN> thats enough for me.ttyl Always something new to learn, thats what makes it so challenging. From the events you described, it sounds as if time will be the best solution. I know that when I have set up a male with say a certain hen, that when I want to re pair him with a different hen, say I did not get what I wanted in the clutch with hen number one, they are quite aggressive with one another, particularly the male, who resents being taken away from hen number one to be put with hen number two. Your male sounds like he did not want to be paired with your lutino hen and visa versa, your hen may have been proven, but resented loosing her mate. And there is always the possibility that you were lied to. Soo many factors to consider. Maybe since you are going to be moving anyway, you might seperate all your birds from each other, that way once you are settled you can try to pair these two again, and maybe they will be more receptive. Let me know how it goes, and where are you moving. PN> ... Where did birds sit before there were telephone wires? PN> -!- Blue Wave/RA v2.20 [NR] PN> !
