Seems I'm killing one or CJ>two a year around here because they're so dangerous. Living in the city does have some advavtages...but I would trade for living in the country. It seems that the mild seasons have brought different types of insects. Last year I had tooooo many of the brown and yellow wasp. They were a menace to birds. Not actually the birds, but they were after their fruit and water. This year I have seen few. Instead I have noticed a black wasp that I sort of appreciate. This particular wasp exterminates spiders. He lands on their backs and stings them in the head. Oddly enough, I also appreciate some of the spiders in the yard. They don't bother the birds, but their webs catch insects, like mosquitos, which will bother the birds. The centipedes and scorpions are another matter. I have been bitten by both and the centipede bite is detrimental to the health and well being of this birdkeeper. It is very painful and last for weeks. I guess when you keep your birds outdoors, as I do, so many things are related to what I am doing. --- Maximus 2.02 * Origin: Far Point Station (1:382/77) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 225 PARROTS Ref: CCY00042 Date: 08/26/95 From: FRAN WARWICK Time: 08:30pm \/To: GEORGE DESTAFFAN (Read 2 times) Subj: Reply GD>Thanks Fran.
