But in my oppinion, the Sensei is more important than the style. Tamara is takeing Okainawan Katate (Karate Kid), but we chose this Dojo because the Sensai worked well with her. If you are really worried about a kid who has a violent streek and needs a lot of self control, you might want to try Aikido, as it stressed defence, not attack. Even more non-violent than that is Tai Che, which is a meditive form of dance more than it is a fighting style. It is very demanding, but it is ALL about centering and self control. Tamara never had a bad teacher, in fact her teachers were dedicated, loveing, and creative, but they were abused (Yep, that word again!), by a system that seems more intent on stuffing money in administrators pockets tahn it does in educateing kids. A doctor today stated that lithium may be the JP> next choice as most of the meds to date have made him hyper... Of JP> course this was a Family Doctor and we were there for a small problem. JP> (David poked himself in the eye) My 11 year old did that once at school. Actually he was getting out a piece of paper and somehow poked himself in the eye with the corner. The school did not call me about it and Jonathon's eye swelled up. We went to the Doctor and he said he had a scratch on his cornea. So We went to a specialist and because the school did not inform us about it they ended up having to pay for it. Jonathon had to go back every 2 days for two weeks. It took about month before he could see properly because it heals in two weeks but that is superficial. After that they started calling me about everything. I think that was good though, be- cause I knew what to look for depending on what happened. My husbands cousin who he hasn't seen in years come over last nite and we found out he is on Ritalin and that it does run on his side of the family. He gave us some good info on the family background. So now I understand some more. I am going to have to talk to my mom and she see what mite know. Unfortunately her family lives in Germany and so she will have to remember how well any did it school and ask the family now if any are diagnoised with such or having problems. She is really lives her life old european style. She finally got a VCR and she is in her 70's. Regina JP> -!- FMail 0.94 JP> ! Origin: The Pit... Have You Dropped In Lately ?? He doesn't seem to have much of a temper, but loves to clown around still. As a matter of fact he seems very easy going now. He couldn't finish to get his black belt because they felt at his age it would be too dangerous. He isn't much interested in it any more.
