O>;-) I can relate in a small way. Although pint-sized, Gabi is ALWAYS on the prowl for a snack -- she has pica and will sample & taste EVERYTHING, much to my dismay. I figured out that the real reason she loves to go on walks is that she considers the whole thing a smorgasbord experience -- a half-hour of prime grazing. She is very well fed between her IAMS, carrots, dog biscuits, and the occasional table scrap... oh, and the Missing Link. It is never enough in her mind -- and I'm not about to give in & change her diet... I want to keep her healthy, not obese! At any rate, I know it will be a real challenge to get Rosie down, but you'll do it somehow! Skritches to the Bouv Brigade! TC> Yes we do. We live right next door to the school where Ray works. TC> (The school owns the house.) 4 bedrooms and a really nice sized TC> back yard. Sounds like a great place! I hope to be moving into a larger place soon, also. Right now my place is a two bedroom townhouse. Small backyard, that I have to share with my neighbours. TC> Now I KNOW dogs are like their owners! Buster got over the TC> fencing and dug up the Zuchini. (RAY hates ZUCHS!) Course he TC> also did in the onions I planted for Ray. Hehehehehe! One of the reasons I'm not planting a garden this year! I don't need Ben going through all my stuff, and having himself a feast. It's bad enough that my roomy put a garbage bag within Ben's reach out there, and I found the contents strewn all over the place! Worse part was that this bag contained the kitty litter offerings from my cats. Ben had a lovely snack of cat poop. TC> I had an area in the corners marked out for beans and peas which I TC> was sprouting in the den, he dug those up really bad, I guess I am TC> lucky I was too lazy to transplant the babies until later! I had TC> even covered the danged thing with heavy clear plastic to keep the TC> tomatoes feet warm and he just "moved" it out of his way. Sigh.... Frustrating, to say the least. Maybe Buster saw Mom digging around out there, and decided that this was acceptable behaviour? ;) CL> I don't know how many times the cats have ripped CL> through the dog food bag when I am putting away the CL> rest of the groceries. I've learned though. I now TC> Mine do that too, but to their food in my sewing room. The kittens TC> attacked the spare bag I had in there. :( I have three that need TC> homes! Ray says he will wrap them in a $20 bill! (he's not a cat TC> fan..) He likes to threaten to make them Buster snacks. (Course TC> Buster thinks kitties are for playing with, it's my Mocha that TC> wants to chase chase chase) I should be having kittens in the house soon enough. Found out Mischief is pregnant (I *knew* I should have had Blue fixed sooner!). Since they will be part Maine Coon, I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding homes for them. BS> I'll try that next. Been thinking of trying the Nutro stuff next. I've used the Nutros foods for both my dogs and my cats. They really like it, and I am impressed by the ingredients. I just switched Ben over to their Lamb and Rice formula (he seems to have a delicate stomach, and will stink up the whole house when he farts!), and he is getting 3 1/2 cups of this food per day compared to the 7 cups he was getting of the Pedigree. Not a trace of corn in the stuff, either. His stool is much smaller, and he is still as energetic as before, and may even be putting ON some weight! BS> I wonder if the size of the kibble has anything to do with it? Definately! The sheltie I had for a few months last year would eat the smaller (although harder) kibble more readily than he would the larger (and softer) kibble. He would take one of the big pieces, and it was difficult for him fit his mouth around it, so he would just drop it. Chris eb011@freenet.carleton.ca --- timEd 1.10 * Origin: Prepare to Capsize! Not too put down mutts (since that's what I have! ;) but considering that a purebred lab is fairly expensive, he might have wanted to at least *try* something. Instead of pawning them off on his good samaritan nighbour.
