These rules are put forth by the moderator of the Geoworks Conference and are guidelines for conduct in the Echo. If you have any comments for the moderator, please send them via Netmail to: Chris Sallek at 1:11/461.0@FidoNet.org. 1. Please let the moderator moderate. If you see a message that you believe to be off-topic, don't add to the thread by responding to it. Instead, contact the moderator via NetMail. 2. Avoid overly annoying behavior. Think before you speak, what may be perfectly fine to you may be annoying to others. 3. Avoid being easily annoyed. Try not to be overly sensitive when reading others comments. Not everything you find annoying is annoy- ing to others. 4. Keep messages on topic. Messages covering other topics and pri- vate messages should be sent via Netmail. 5. Do not make abusive or derogatory comments about others. This echo is for civilized, mature discussions related to the Geoworks software systems. I will begin post- ing the echo rules on the 1st of the month, which I believe has been neglected recently... perhaps also a list of Geoworks/New Deal contacts/resources. I plan to post the synopsis of the monthly AOL Geoworks Rotunda on or about the 15th of the month (this will allow time to edit the text, even in months when the Rotunda is held near the middle of the month (it's the second Wednesday, so it can be as early as the 8th or as late as the 14th). I may consider posting a brief FAQ on the 22nd of the month at some point in the future. When I get my BBS set up, I will be joining Fidonet... so my Fidonet address will be changing at that time. --- * SLMR 2.0 * Broken down with a flat tire on the data two track. * Origin: The Hole BBS Va Beach Va (804) 431-1800 (1:275/71) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 220 GEOWORKS Ref: DD500000 Date: 09/03/96 From: STEPHEN HAFFLY Time: 06:28am \/To: KOLJA BRIX (Read 1 times) Subj: Introduction On (01 Sep 96) Kolja Brix wrote to All... Peter Campbell had mentioned this same procedure to me and I only got a chance to try it out today. After the above change, I attempted start with the Geos.bat and it hung up with just the very initial text prompt showing in the upper left of the screen. My version is 1.2.8.2. Maybe it's just too old. Do you have any other suggestions? Part of why I was fooling with it was that I'd heard of these issues and my friend is ordering a new computer. I know I'll be the one fiddling with it and thought I'd get a head start by getting it to run on my machine. She's getting a 150 Pentium, but she's accustomed to Geoworks for her weekly newsletter and it would be nice if she could keep using it.
