I had a dog that would pull ONLY the book I had read last out of a book case and rip it up when he was mad at me. He KNEW why I was ignoring him! He'd also poop IMMMEDIATELY after we left. We found this out when we stepped out the door, remembered something, and came back in. It wasn't a whole minute! Worst dog I EVER had. But I still liked him. | AmiQWK 2.9 - FREEWARE | ... We're having a .lot. of color discussion on two lists I'm -> on - breed and genetics. Urban legend I expect. Quite frankly, MOST of these genetic mistakes seem to proliferate a whole NEW set of presumption or maybe unprovable perceptions. I tend to avoid getting involved with these types of discussion since there's little if anything to be gained from them, and people will continue to believe whatever they WANT to believe anyway. From my position of ignorance of such genetic mutations I tend to disagree that there's anything ominous involved. If there IS, I think it's just mother nature's way of protecting herself against US! Somehow, saying that AG> one has had a dog "euthanized" emphasizes the merciful part of the AG> killing, whereas "put to sleep" is painfully inaccurate. But then the child says, "Daddy, what does euthanized mean?" To me, the merciful part is that the animal goes through sleep into death. I explained it to my son by saying that the dog is given some medicine that makes it's heart and breathing slow down, until it falls asleep. Then the medicine continues to slow his heart and breathing until he dies. But since he was asleep already, he didn't even know it happened. Hello, I've just gotten a puppy about a month ago, and the people I got him from said that his mother is a half Husky/half Himalayan Mountain Dog. Father is assumed to be a German Shepard, and by his markings I would tend to agree with this. He's now 12 weeks old, and weighs about 40 lbs, so he's going to be a *big* one! But everybody I talk to has *no idea* what the heck a Himalayan Mountain Dog IS! Has anybody ever heard of this breed? Or could it be a synonym for some other breed? Thanks!
