I only have mainstream acoustic songs like >"Don't Speak" by No Doubt, some Led Zep, and some blues tabs. Acoustic is >the best way to start playing, or at least that is what I have found. I >have only been playing about a year, so....I'm not that experienced. Have >fun playin'! I guess acoustic guitars can really get your fingers in shape. I have a high-top acoustic, so my fingers suffer a bit. I myself have been playing for only a year, but I'm just so glad I once decided to play. Best thing I ever did. Do you take lessons? I want to start taking lessons. I just don't know exactly what is the next step for me. --- * QMPro 1.53 * Don't buy furs. SCOPE: TABLATURE is the internationally distributed FidoNet echo for the sharing and discussion of tablature for guitar and other instruments, and related subjects. II. DESCRIPTION: (Guitar Tablature Echo, as described in the EList:) The Fidonet Guitar Tablature Echo is the place to share musical stylings with other musicians from around the world. The echo is open to guitar enthusiasts of of any musical style; acoustic, electric or bass guitar players are welcomed. Postings in the echo include requests for tab, help in figuring out new and classic songs, musical interpretations of new and classic songs and ASCII postings of tablature. Beginners are always welcomed. There are lots of experienced players in the echo that are willing to lend a hand. III. RULES: 1. "Play nice!" Call it decorum, or (n)etiquette, or whatever, but (so-called) common sense applies here. Most of what follows, apart from some technical matters, falls under this description. Treat one another as *I* would like to be treated. :) No flaming, personal insults, or derogatory comments against ethnic, gender, religious or other groups, please. All musical backgrounds and abilities are to be welcomed. Moderator discretion on these matters is final. 2. Content. Messages must be related to the topic of the echo as stated. Responses to off-topic messages are themselves off-topic. The moderator is the final judge of topicality. Messages of interest to individuals rather than the entire echo (other than related to the echo topic) should be conducted in netmail. 3. Quoting. Please quote "appropriately." Messages in any echomail conference, including this one, are visible to ALL participants. Please quote enough lines from the previous message to help ALL participants recall the subject matter, but limit your quoting to only that amount. Do not quote entire messages, only to add single-line comments (such as "I agree") in ANY echo. 4. Language. The official language of this echo is English and posts should be in English whenever possible. Lyrics written in other languages are usually an acceptable exception to this rule. Please be considerate of the majority of echo participants (and the moderator) and also post translations when appropriate. Although this echo is carried in countries where English is not the native tongue, it is expected of the participants, since it is our common basis of communication in this echo. Profanity is not acceptable in this conference. Again, lyrics may be an acceptable exception to this rule. I doubt there would be anything that could ever shock me, since I've "heard it all," but there are usually alternative ways to phrase any subject matter. "Gutter" language reflects poorly on the person speaking it. Buy a thesaurus if needed. :) (By restricting profanity, perhaps people will THINK before posting inflammatory responses?) Remember that we're not all "adults" here, even though expected to act "mature." (For the younger participants, remember that some adults can't eal with swearing? ) Abusive or degrading language will not be tolerated. (See #1.) 5. Advertising. No advertising is allowed without specific moderator approval in advance. This applies to commercial as well as non-commercial endeavors. If you feel something would be of interest to the entire echo, contact the moderator privately. (Non-approved BBS ads are not allowed.) 6. Legality. There are to be no illegal activities taking place in the echo nor are they to be discussed here. This includes, but is not limited to, discussion f bootlegs and the illegal copying or distribution of copyrighted materials. 7. Binaries and UUencoding. There are to be NO UUencoded (or XXencoded or any other format) messages without specific moderator pre-approval. Messages are intended for general distribution and ease of use. Flat-text ASCII files are easily imported and modified by software available on most platforms capable of receiving these echo messages. Therefore "text" is the preferred method of transferring tablature in the echo. On rare occasion, a binary file might be considered of wide enough interest that the moderator will approve its distribution via UUencoding, especially if the ize is relatively small. (One POSSIBLE example might be the archive of a Tab Editor which the author has authorized for release to the echo.) This would be a rare occurrence however. 8. Names. This is a Real Names Only echo. Sysops should configure their systems appropriately. Use of aliases may be granted on a case by case basis by the moderator with advance approval, but generally this is reserved for public figures such as musical celebrities who may wish to participate here. 9. Distribution. There is to be no gating of messages to or from this echo outside of Fidonet Zones 1 through 6 without prior moderator approval. 10. Character set. No ASCII characters outside the range of values between decimal 32 and 127 inclusively are to be used. This includes any part of the message eader, body, tagline, tearline, or origin line. (No smiley faces, for example.) If you can't SEE it on a standard keyboard, it's probably not allowed. More precisely, if it's not on the following two lines, don't use it. !"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO PQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~. 11. Loopholes. The moderator reserves the right to add to or change any of these rules at any time, especially if someone comes up with a new and improved way to aggravate and irritate us all. :) 12. Moderation. The moderator is the moderator, not you. :) If you see something happening in the echo that you simply must comment on, do so in netmail or email. Most times the moderator has already taken care of it privately, but you are welcome to bring it to his attention if you are concerned. This is NOT to take place in the echo however. Questions, comments or suggestions about the rules or any moderator activities is also welcomed, but NOT in the echo. The moderator can be contacted by FidoNet netmail or Internet email, at the addresses listed low. Violations of the above rules may result in possible actions at the sole discretion of the moderator. These actions may include, but are not limited to, suspension from the echo for varying periods of time, including permanently. Feeds may be severed at the moderator's discretion, at whatever level he deems appropriate. Moderator messages will usually contain a PGP digital signature for the purposes of authenticity verification. The Tablature Moderator's public key will be posted periodically in the Fidonet PKEY_DROP echo, and is available for file request by the "magic" name PUBKEY at 1:2613/246 to nodelisted systems. 13. YUCK! Don't let all of the above formality stop you from having fun! Remember Rule #1 is "Play nice!" and to keep things pretty much topical. The other technical matters are there for reference and "in case." Basically though, consider this an informal jam session among friends! Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead Cannibal Corpse ---------------------------------------------- Here's my first attempt at a Cannibal Corpse song. I figured I might as well start at the beginning of the album. I'm not positive about all this, since the bass is mixed kinda low (what else is new). I can't tell if he does that tapping thing in the beginning, or just the root notes, or somewhere in between. It's one of these three versions, I'm sure, although he could be doing all three at different times. 1) e ss e Q Q e ss e Q Q Q +--------------------+--------------------------+ |9:------------------|12:-----------------------|
