Peace, which has a better name than the rose itself deserves, is notoriously susceptible to Black Spot. I suggest you find a local Rosarian, or a professional rose garden, and ask about varieties that do well in your local area. I'm writing a short story about a guy who gets fed up with his wife's nagging (about his love of composting). He does her in, pops the bones (even the skull will fit!) into the composter. The worms do their thing. He takes the bones from the bottom of the feed and roasts them, crushes them, pops the ash back into the composter. You NEVER, NEVER spray fruit trees while the blossoms are anywhere in sight...you can kill off the bees this way. Any package that I have purchased over the years, says to spray every two weeks until the blossoms appear, and every two weeks from after the blossoms have fallen until a week before the fruit is picked. This is what we do and the results are good.
