Excellent explanation, and much thanks, Sandra. You're detailed description went into far better detail than the PBS and network TV channels did. I don't think the television discussions mentioned sheep offal, so that was a revelation. I sometimes wonder that our dogs and cats don't have serious side effects, what with all the strange things they put in their food. I noticed lately that they are advertising lamb in dog foods now. In light of the above, I wonder how is lamb meat, and how much is lamb "other parts"? ... We have enough youths. I've known that some people disregarded life to the point where they could kill animals without a second thought, in fact some actually go out of their way to hit an animal, but never have I had to confront someone who thought that the death of another creature was "cool". I could have done without the reference to the turtle shell "popping off and spinning on the road". If this isn't going on with your lawn, then I wouldn't worry about it. Actually you can buy aerators, which will do the same job, that you can strap on your shoes. Then while you mow the lawn you can aerate your lawn so that water absorbtion is increased. These look like exagurated golf or football cleets. The tines are much longer. Hmmm....I've always heard that you want the plant to set first fruit early. That means that the plant is encouraged to flower, and to flower often. I did it, and I have, on one plant, over 12 tomatoes coming right now. Remember to get a good tomato fertilizer, and to fertilize about once a week while growing fruit. I suggest Miracle grow.
