They > hate it, but it doesn't bother the birds, who can't taste it, Hey that sounds good... now here's another question... I just came in from my newly planted garden... and three of my baby plants have been rudely ravaged by snails... Any suggestions for that? (By the way I have two dogs so I'm thinking along the lines of something safe for them...) Although the garden is protected by a little mesh fence... they still can get in there if they REALLY wanted to... I read once that you can use a little cup of stale beer to deter the snails... I don't exactly know why... getting them drunk will curb their appetite for my plants? '-) Ha ha ha! Besides... One of my dogs have a taste for beer... weird huh? Thanks! My peas are history! They decided they'd done enough and went out fast. I've frozen the sugar snaps in their pods. They have to be blanched a couple of minutes, then popped into bags. But they don't come out crunchy like when they're fresh. They taste sweet and good, but soggy consistency. Marilyn ...
