SP> Light is food to them - no light, and they starve to death over a SP> period of time. Yep, the human eye is a poor guage of adequate light for plants. Where we fail completely is in calculating the cumulative amount needed. SP> My much-neglected AV's sit on wide windowsills to SP> catch as much light as possible for much of the year. Only in summer SP> do I have to shade the west window where I keep most of them. And only SP> in summer would they thrive in a north window. Most do well in east SP> and west windows. We got a short taste of summer all along the East Coast of the USA yesterday with record temps being broken up and down the coast. I think it hit 87 here. Perfect timing for the day when I'd decided to clean my mothers concrete planters. I think I might have lost a few pounds.... To get another smelly topic going, I now have an orange tree in bloom. Almost as good as the night jasmine. Jimvee ... A Chrysanthemum by any other name would be easier to spell. ___Messenger V1.2 [Reg] --- PPoint 2.02 * Origin: Jimvee's Point. Also I bought a coffee plant at a local greenhouse. It was about 6 inches tall 4 years ago and now it is about 3 feet tall and has survived much neglect! I am told that it will eventually flower and grow coffee beans! As my sysop had again to change from provider, I'm trying once again if we can come back into the echo Home-n-garden. I hope so. A few days ago I got a new echo "Penpal" where can be written about all kind of things. There are many European countries connected and Australia is also in it. Maybe within short I can also find some Americans writing in this PENPAL echo. But even it's not the same as your echo Home-n-garden. So I continue hoping to get in again. CC-> Why don't you make the inspection yourself? All ->it takes is a flashlight & a screwdriver. Where do you live? I bought a very old home about 2 years ago. As required by law it was inspected before being sold and was deemed "clean". I went into the attic a few months later and found ALOT of termite damage to the wood but none of it posed a threat. The wood floors were sanded down and old trails were found. I never saw termite. I called one play (a national chain) and they came out. I showed them the wood in the attic and the old termite trails in the floor. He said I had termites. I asked how he could know the difference between old and new damage. He said that he chould dig into the wood and find the termite. He tried and tried but could not come up with any. Then he looked under the home for 3 seconds in two places and told me I had sub-terrainian termites. All this could be taken care of for about $3000. Maybe it's me but I want a little more proof then that. Personally I trust very few of those termite inspection places. * OLX 2.1 * Todd Copeland - TEAM OS/2 --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 100 * Origin: <> BBS Tampa, Florida (813) 276-0881 (1:377/188) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 208 HOME & GARDEN Ref: E2V00001 Date: 02/25/97 From: TODD COPELAND Time: 07:16pm \/To: DENISE MORRIS (Read 4 times) Subj: roaches ->I know I've seen roach info here before.
