If not put it in one. Also you can try putting the plant in the bathtub or sink and start pouring water in the top until the water starts pouring out the drain hole and do this for a few minutes as it washes all the chemicals and salt out of the soil. Then leave the plant sitting in the sink until the water is not dripping out the bottom anymore. This should help and also don't fertilize too much. Hope your plant perks up a bit, there nothing more sad looking than a brown spider plant :). Hi Linda, Just looking thru the messages and this one caught my eye! We are going to Florida next month and I can't wait, the weather here is cold and snowy. We are going on a cruise and are driving from Pa. to Florida. Any highlights you recommend at this time of the year (if we have extra time to do some touring) as in gardens that I might want to check out? I have never been any further south than Maryland, so I sure don't know what to expect! I think you're in Ontario, but I'm not sure. I am in Ontario. They say that you shouldn't plant until the Victoria Day weekend (May 19th, this year), but we can still get night frosts and temps in the low 20's celcius, don't know what that is in F. If I wait until then, though, I don't get any peas! And I do love peas! I haven't gotten any into the house the past few years, because I eat them all in the garden! :) Oh well, I've just got to learn to plant more! MB> I gather you grow a lot of herbs. I MB> received a bay plant in the mail today that I had ordered. I'm MB> hoping it'll do well in a container. It's supposed to, so I I love herbs! I've got old roses, thyme, mint, lemon balm, wild strawberries, cilantro, basils, sage, comfrey, and a bunch more. Of course, some are still waiting to be put into the garden this spring, and some are inside, and some come back every year. My herbs are in no way formal. They're planted where they'll do well, be it the flower garden or the vegetable garden, or the hill we can't mow. They pretty much grow anywhere. The less you fuss over them (for the most part) the better they do! Your Bay should grow well in a container. Unfortunately, I can't give you any tips on growing them. I kill them, along with rosemary (I killed another one, if you're reading Kat). At least I have something to strive for!
