But this mapping is removed JdBP>during the login process. The map is removed if you have a login script (per your previous paragraph). However, in the absence of a login script L: is mapped to SYS:LOGIN and P: maps to SYS:PUBLIC. This is the System Login Script you speak of. In the case of OS/2's Netware Requester LOGIN.EXE is actually invoked from C:\NETWARE (default requester subdirectory). L: and P: are further defined in your CONFIG.SYS PATH and DPATH statements as L:\OS2, P:\OS2, L:\NLS and P:\NLS respectively. L: and P: are defined as MAP ROOT for SYS:LOGIN and SYS:PUBLIC so the definitions in the CONFIG.SYS for L: and P: are correct for the pathing the requester needs. All this is academic however. My problem is the drive letters are not being defined when LOGIN.EXE is run. Since I have no login script for the Requester (which would be defined under my mail directory as a file named LOGIN.OS2) the two drive letters should be defined with default System Login Script mappings (LOGIN.EXE). This is not happening and so far, even IBM's tech support can't tell me why. Thanks for trying to help me out. This is just one of those strange things that will get eventually figured out and it will probably be something obscure but simple to correct. :) George ... I've got RH 4.2, with kernel 33. I installed the kernel patch for ipportfw, and.. Well, it works, kinda.. I can see the packets come in the modem, and get sent to the OS/2 box, but nothing on the OS/2 box responds. I can telnet to the OS/2 box from Linux, and I can telnet from OS/2, or the Internet, to the Linux box, and then telnet to the OS/2 box. The problem is getting it to do it automatically. I'm needing to forward both port 23 and 25 to the OS/2 box, and neither respond :( I've looked at some of the other utils out there, and might have to change my thinking. I was hoping to continue running Gigo, but it's beginning to look like I'm going to have to dive into sendmail to get this working :( If you come up with something positive, please let me know ;) Homer homer.parker@homershut.dyndns.com- --- Msged/2 4.20 beta 2 * Origin: Homer's Hut (telnet://homershut.dyndns.com) (1:299/120@fidonet)
