(Continued) Hello Benjamin! Answering a msg of , from Benjamin Schollnick to All: Just a thought, Ben. I'm not certain about ver 4.0, but on my ver 3.0 Warp CD-ROM, there's a file named PMDF.EXE. It's a graphical system dump ormatter that's used by IBM to read the system dump disks. On my CD-ROM, it's located in " \OS2IMAGE\DMPD1\ " Also, if someone has a copy of the OS/2 Developer's Toolkit, you may be able to obtain a special DEBUG kernel, that can be used with a terminal or PC, attached to a serial comm port. You can break into the system and set breakpoints. You can see what's happening in real time, change things and try them out, again in real time. Just a couple of ideas, just incase no one comes up with an answer to your dump data. Basically, I have two machines at home and I want to DH>network them together. I put network cards in both and set DH>up everything that seemed appropriate in MPTS and DH>TCP/IP(LAN). My best advice is to go through the automated nobrainer network setup, not the custom install which doesn't seem to work. I have things working here with netbeui/netbios between the two machines. Just had to set the workgroup/domain name to the same and create identical login id's on each machine. Also, did you get OS/2 drivers with your network cards and onfigure them? Mine were PNP and I had to use a DOS utility to set the IRQ's etc and disable the PNP bios before I used them under OS/2. I also got them talking to a WinNT box and a Win95 box. Yes, but the install isn't always functional. When using the Netware Requester, I've had to enter the MAC address manually and edit the frame types to enable the Ethernet frames and disable the Token Ring frame types that are enabled by default to get a successful device driver load and a proper PROTOCOL.INI file. You do this after the fact by running MPTS manually. If you're not using the Netware Requester, then none of this may be necessary. Can't say for sure, as it's always one of the several I configure. .\\ike --- GoldED/2 2.50+ * Origin: -=[ TechKnowledgy at Work ]=- (1:382/61.1) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 207 OS2 LAN Ref: EAM00001 Date: 06/17/97 From: DAVID CALAFRANCESCO Time: 10:55am \/To: JOE LERCH (Read 1 times) Subj: Adding NFS to TCPIP Joe Lerch wrote in a message to All: JL> a GUI interface to their Dec Alpha servers. Have you purchased the NFS (Network File System) addon support for TCPIP? It doesn't come included with Warp Connect. It might be part of Warp Server though. The printer function is built in and requires things like LPD and LPRMON etc... you will probably find much better answers on how to use these tools in an O'Reilly Linux/TCPiP book than you will in any IBM publication as most are just pure ports of older IP code.
