MR> Any suggestions on this? Been there, done that. This was back a version or so, but what I basically did was to manually unpack the drivers from the CDROM (after dumping the file list so I could FIND the darned things. As I recall, what I wound up doing was to manually edit Config.sys but I forget the details. Seems to me you will need lines of the form SET VIDEO_DEVICES=VIO_CGA, DEVICE=VCGA.SYS, and SET VIO_CGA=DEVICE(BVHCGA). You will need CVGA.SYS and BVHCGA.DLL from the CD. I found the .SYM files for them, but the files are hiding in one of the bundles apparently. See HELP UNPACK to see how to list the bundles and unpack the files. Ok I finally got my Warp4 system and win95 networking... Just one problem, how can I get it working in a dos session. I keep getting the question to load workstation, then an error. I can see the network from the desktop and os2 windows only. BTW... thanks to Mike McBroom for recommending the "Getting to Know OS/2 Warp 4" book. I've been put in charge of setting up a Netview/DM distribution server where I work. The server needs to be running on Warp 4 for reasons not really important to my problem. The specifications for the server says that I need to install Warp 4 AND Warp Server on the box (which is an IBM PC Server 500, btw). Warp 4 installed fine. When I want to install WS, it claims I can't install under my version of OS/2, i.e. it needs the copy of W3 Connect ON the WS CD. Somebody must have done this before... Hints are appreciated!! I am not able to configure the machine with the modem (com port 2) setup to share its com port. Is there a way to do this. I am trying to access a modem through another machine. I was able to configure the machine to allow printer share, but if I try to allow FAXWORKS PRINTER DRIVER FXPRINT share, this driver is set to com 2 and not to a lpt port. If I try to configure a serial device to com2 to share, I get an error saying that the spooler is accessing this port, so it will not accept the settings. Any suggestions? It is my understanding that running Warp Server on an OS/2 4.0 base OS is not supported at this time. Despite the confusing version numbering, Warp Server 4 is actually using the OS/2 3.0 code base. The upcoming Warp Server 5 will be built on OS/2 4.0 code, you may want/need to wait for that. --- * Origin: Starship Heart of Gold - Edmonton, AB [403]489-1735 (1:342/42) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 207 OS2 LAN Ref: E5L00002 Date: 05/16/97 From: DAVID CALAFRANCESCO Time: 11:47pm \/To: PETER FRENCH (Read 0 times) Subj: Error1852 Pci-Pnp? Call them, I fought with a TR card and an IBM Sound card for hours before giving in, they had the answer and had me fixed inside of 15 minutes.
