PMFJIB, this got me curious. I just copied the fido nodelist (2.8M) in the following fashion: Warp Connect - Local machine from D: to C: Warp Connect - LAN machine from machine #1's D: to it's C: Win95 - LAN machine from machine #1's D: to it's C: All three copies occured as close to simulateously as two hands can get . Worked fine here, though I noticed that a healthy number of Ethernet collisions occured on the hub, and the win95 finished very noticiably last. All using only NETBIOS (IBM's PEER). It means breaking up a program and running parts on different CPU's as they become available. At least, that's how I understand it. I think QNX is an example of that. If it is your contention that the client won't run on a 286, then you just don't know what you are talking about because I have the netware client installed on a number of 286 PCs that I use in offices of Mac users who don't have another means of running DOS software that runs over IPX on the Netware LAN to connect to a Wang mini that we are in the process of phasing out. Obviously, I can't run any Windows software on these 286s, but I can map drives on the server and copy files to and from without any problem. If I install the IPX Wang terminal emulator on the 286 clients, they don't need to log onto the Netware server, but they can log on and could load the software off of the server instead of from the local hard disk. I can even run this Wang client software in a Warp Connect DOS window if all I want to do is function as a dumb terminal on the Wang mini. Real DOS is required for functions like mapping libraries on the Wang as netware drives, copying to and from them, etc. Win 95 gags on the DOS Wang emulator, though, so one workaround for the idiots in the lab that are using Win 95 would be to boot real DOS and the netware client from a floppy and run the Wang emulator that way. ___ * MR/2 2.25 NR * --- Maximus/2 2.02 * Origin: OS/2 Shareware BBS, telnet://bbs.os2bbs.com (1:109/347) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 207 OS2 LAN Ref: DGS00011 Date: 12/22/96 From: BOB CARLSON Time: 01:05am \/To: GARRY WALKER (Read 0 times) Subj: Os/2 And Novell In a message dated 12-18-96, Garry Walker said to George Fliger: GF> He's obviously pulling your leg.
