I've seen this before with NT WS. You have resource icons in the network folder, but can't access them. I seem to recall that Service Pack 3 or 4 for NT fixes it. Check also that your userid and password for the NT resources is the same as your userid and password for your OS/2 Peer logon. --- * Origin: Starship Heart of Gold - Edmonton, AB [403]489-1735 (1:342/42) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 207 OS2 LAN Ref: DDN00005 Date: 09/17/96 From: MICHAEL VIGNOLA Time: 08:10am \/To: ALL (Read 3 times) Subj: Window NT Server Is it possible to install OS2 connect as a work station on a NT Server. My company is switching from Novell 3.12 to NT. I work in a microsoft house and we get no support to setup my work station that is currently working with novell. I appreciate any information that may help me to get my machine setup on the NT server. Keep in mind that, in those days, things like TCP/IP were extra cost -- and not cheap. Running the old LS Requester over TCPBEUI instead of NetBEUI was a major hassle, but is only a couple of mouse clicks on Connect. JG> Would the above limitation still apply under Peer? No. There is a connection limit, but I forget exactly what it is. I think it is somewhere around 10. JG> Also, I've heard that the Peer is a lot slower and JG> memory-hungry than the 4.0 requestor. JG> Would Peer's memory requirements be a lot more than the JG> 3.0 requestor? Yes. Connect gives you the option of installing either the LS Requester or Peer Services. Peer is essentially unusable with less than 16 MB. We had Peer running on an 8 MB machine once, and even moving the mouse would cause swapping to occur. -- Mike --- * Origin: N1BEE BBS +1 401 944 8498 V.34/V.FC/V.32bis/HST16.8 (1:323/107) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 207 OS2 LAN Ref: DDN00007 Date: 09/19/96 From: MIKE BILOW Time: 12:34pm \/To: RICK DAVIS (Read 3 times) Subj: OS/2 Connect/NT Server Following up a message from Jim Whitelaw to Mike Bilow: RD> Does anyone have experience connecting OS/2 Warp Connect to RD> an MS NT Server?
