I am not trying to be a know-it-all. For all of you, myself included, that do not know exactly what leap year is here is the definition out of the Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary, 1994 edition. Leap Year: (In the Gregorian calendar) a year that contains 366 days, with February 29 as an additional day added to offset the difference between the common year (365 days) and the astronomical year (365 1/4 days): occuring every fourth year with the exception of centenary years NOT divisible by 400. I hope that everyone can forgive me for sticking my nose in. I am however trying to make ammends. Actually 3.1 suits my needs quite well and with all the alterations I've made it only crashes due to two reasons, one the weird and defunct Headland Technologies video and since the Kflex modems came online my old 14,400 will sometimes fail to negotiate leading to a crash. I'm going to replace the video and modem thus alleviating the last of my problems, I already updated 3.1's file manager with w31filup.exe. The card supports IRQ's of 2/9,3,4,5,6,7 - after setting the links, the tape drive software configuration must be reset. 7 clashes with the printer port, often ok. 6 clashes with the floppy - I get a warning that the floppy must not be used during backup. 5 is spare, favourite for soundcard. 4 is COM1, favourite for serial mouse. 3 is COM2, favourite for modem 2/9 is the redirect via the second controller, often free but sometimes buggy. The best thing to have is a PS/2 mouse port using IRQ 12, as then you can disable a serial port. Once you forgo plug & play, you may end up doing a few rounds of the hardware setup / software setup loop - perhaps you haven't reconfigured the rest of the software to match. The other options are to use BIOS to select some IRQs as "Legacy ISA" instead of Plug & Play, or use "reserve" in Win95.
