Here is some information. I am running a PDC, BCD, and file server. I can create a folder on each of the machines and give share permissisions EVERYONE (read only) and NTFS permissions to a Local Group (read only). This was setup from the File server. All machines are in the same domain. When I log onto a workstation with a user account of a person in the local group, I can get access to the folders on the PDC and BDC, but the File server gives me an "ACCESS DENIED". This is a Single Master Domain Model with the servers in the resource domain and the users in the master domain. If I use a global group from the master domain or directly insert the user from the master domain insted of the local group all is well on all servers. Any ideas? You are correct about what a "static IP address" is about, I was trying to make a slightly different point which I no longer completely remember. I have gotten no good resolution to the problem. I have 16 meg of RAM in the system. Do you think that I need more RAM? I am running Office 95 with Bookshelf. Dou think that upgrading the system to 32 megs of RAM will help? > Bob > --- timEd/2-B11 > * Origin: The Fireside BBS Houston TX (281)496-6319 > (1:106/114) --- * Origin: Rico & Chely's BBS Kansas City, Mo.
