Hi Arie, AR> What kind of Frontdoor(dos)/Maindoor/2-clones are available for NT4? BinkleyTerm is the only one I know of which is 32-bit coded for 95/NT (I may be wrong though). I'm sure there are others out there, but I don't know them (yet). You can either mount the drive as another drive letter, or you can use NT's ftp server (personal web services). Both work just fine. In fact, if you don't want to mount, just bring up Windows Explorer on NT, go down to "Network Neighborhood", open it up, you should see the Win95 machine's name, open that up, click on the drive you want, and depending on what type of sharing you've enabled on the Win95 machine, it will ask for a password. ##Mmr 2.45#. !link ROBTH 03-29-97 21:37 --- GTMail 1.26 * Origin: Catholic Info Net Houston [713 522 1104] (1:106/960.0) --------------- ** A related thread FOLLOWS this message. For your info there is a utility called NTFSDOS which allows you to copy files from a NTFS drive in case of a crash. It is available from www.internals.com and is soon to be READ / WRITE. I'll give it a try! Right now I'm keeping a one-for-one backup on a dedicated machine. My concern is that, since I'm backing up to a FAT partition (under Win95)... in the event of a crash with NT4 WS, how will I restore the backup files since the FAT file system won't see the NTFS partition. Maybe the program you've recommended can help with this? I wonder what you might be referring to by "soon to be READ / WRITE" ? Thanks again, Terry! There is no Windows 3.2. You are probably thinking at the name of this echo WIN32. It stands for 32-bit Windows and since the only completely 32-bit windows version is NT (95 still contains a lot of 16-bit code), this is an echo about NT Greetz, Rob Vandeweyer (2:292/401.115) - ...
