I think 50 to 75.00 -> a month is still high for casual use....If I had telnet and my users -> paid I'd do it....but not now..... Wouldn't you have telnet ability if you had the ISDN connection? Or do you need upgraded software? The $50-$75 would include just the line rental right, or would it also include an Internet connection? If so, with the ability to cancel one or more additional BBS lines, for those of us who have them, and lessen the LD calls since some stuff could be done through the Net, the total additional monthly cost is not as bad as it looks. The only obstacle then would be actually buying and setting up the network interface device and the software to support it, which could end up being a major hassle if your BBS software is not Net-friendly. I have the Wildcat5 package but have yet to actually put it online, just playing around with it on my other NT system. --- HyperMail! v1.22 * Origin: Wizard's Tower/NJSEP BBS--V34+ (908)-473-1933 (1:107/7010) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 206 WINDOWS 32BIT Ref: E3K00003 Date: 03/14/97 From: VINCENT ROBINSON Time: 06:48pm \/To: ANDY KNIFEL (Read 5 times) Subj: Nt 4.0 Cd-rom Setup -> I'll file attach it or put it on hold at 451.... Thanks, I'll poll you tonight! I have access to the WWW at work, but unfortunately the Boss is so fascinated by it, when I sit down at the online system to surf, he always comes over to watch and I can't grab anything for myself. We have a Sportster Winmodem in that system, my main concern about upgrading from 3.11 FW to NT 4 is whether that modem would still function. I guess I should call USR and ask. We want to upgrade all of the systems to NT4 since when memory prices plummetted, last winter we upped every single machine to 32 MB or more and have adequate systems. -> I also have Windows 95.com and gold cds available.... What do you mean by that? I am familiar with NT 3.51 and NT 4 but not 95 which I use only when forced to. :) --- HyperMail! v1.22 * Origin: Wizard's Tower/NJSEP BBS--V34+ (908)-473-1933 (1:107/7010) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 206 WINDOWS 32BIT Ref: E3K00004 Date: 03/14/97 From: ERNIE BOKKELKAMP Time: 06:16am \/To: BOB DAVIS (Read 5 times) Subj: SP 2 and SP1 On 11 Mar 1997 08:00, Bob Davis (1:106/114) wrote: BD>CO> Approximately 15MB. It depends on who/where/what you work for. The symbols are mainly required for debugging on system level, something that most users don't do every day. But it might be needed to allow Microsoft to debug the system when required. We have just been requested by Microsoft Premier Support to install the symbols on our Exchange servers to assist them in case they have to do some deeper problem analysis. Please record the first few lines on the screen and post them here (don't worry about the module list) and with this information we can try to identify the problem. Another important information might be to know how what controllers / drivers are installed on your system to support the CD-R / Floppy.
