He said the MBX and everything else (most likely including the new ROM chip) would cost a total of $95.00 plus shipping which would bring it to $105.90 total. The AEA rep in Washington state (Lynwood) said the total cost to upgrade to the present would be $95.00 plus five dollars and some odd cents for shipping. That's not really a bad deal for the all the upgrades since '88. I upgraded my PK with packtor ( it has packet from te beginning) which was done by placing an eeprom on the motherboard. Very easy, but I found that it's the packtor-version that's used by amateurs, not the packtor used by other stations like the Red Cross. BTW: does AEA has an e-mail address ? I'd like to also find out what it is. You can call AEA in Washington state. I don't have their 800 (wats) toll free number handy if they have one. You will need separate receiving equipment. The PK232 does not function for SSTV mode. I'm sure someone else here will be able to help you on this.
