LD ->Would some patient individual please explane to me what clipper ->is? Is it some kind of programming language or somthing? It certainly is. Clipper was originally developed back in the mid-1980's by Nantucket Corp and later was sold to Computer Associates, the present owner. It was one of the biggest database development languages in use, but unfortunately it never made the jump from DOS to Windows. The language was initially a superset (enhanced) version of the dBASE III+ database program, and many developers made the jump to Clipper from dBASE. It compiles the program into a standalone program, not requiring anything else to run. The present version is 5.3a, while I believe 5.2e is the most common version in use. There are two companies who've produced add-ons to allow one to use the Clipper language in a Windows 3 environment by replacing a lot of the DOS subsystems with their Windows equivalent. In fact, an old Windows version of the WordStar word processor was actually a Clipper program using one of these add-ons.
