Tnx... but I've already done something like it... when the owner of the shop understand that somethings goes wrong he knows that he have to rebuild the indexes... but I cannot do it automatically because the prg have to index database of twenty o thirty Mb... or sometimes more !! You can understand that my customers that has computer not like pentium or 486 can waste lots of minutes waiting for it, also if they work really well with my prg (under dos), and not only two or three... and so, because without my prg running they cannot sell anything, it's unrealible doing a rebuilting of the index like you proposed... But... well... how do you check when the index are being corrupted ? What cheat do you use ?? :) Let me know... The term is an "escape code" because the inkey() code for the escape key is the first character in the sequence. You really need a database of printer codes to handle this in a DOS environment, and you need to let the user pick his printer from the list. I'm seeing a message count here of maybe five per week, mostly non-US. If I go over to Nerds Nook, I see a few more, but not a significant number. I've also noticed the message count on the Firefighter echo dropped radically all at once, like less than ten a week, from ten a day. But I'm not seeing anyone comment on it, so I'm guessing it's up to normal at other places. I know they've been spending a lot on their Internet service, and have it priced at $ 12.95 per month. But a fairly new service, www.stratos.net, is priced at $ 9.95 per month for unlimited connect time. So I'm not sure how it's going. What're you doing with Clipper now? I'm mainly doing maintenance on several programs and studying Visual Objects 2.0. I've pretty much given up on 1.0c-2, as I don't see any market for 16 bit applications.
