You could just make it a menu option on the sys-admin menu I have done that also and then when the indexes get curropted they just click on that option a notice appears to anyone using the program to take a coffee break and the indexes are rebuilt. This means sending a set of characters to the printer. The codes you have to use differ from printer to printer, so you have to look in the manual of your printer for the correct codes.
