The system has 16 megs of memory and a 2.5gig hard drive partitioned in 5 equal parts. The two most important applications in use are a DOS-based Fidonet mailer and BBS (Front Door/RA) and MSOffice Professional 4.3. I also use a Windows application timer program which triggers several other DOS processes in the background on an hourly, daily or monthly basis, but I could pull those processes into the BBS batch file window if really necessary. I'm assuming that the Windows 3.1 applications I'm using would run as well under Win95 as they do now, but can anyone advise me on the critical things that would need to be changed to keep the mailer/BBS functional? One thing I DON'T want is to spend days tweaking things to get back to level of function where I started. Thanks for any recommendations. -=ken=- --- * Origin: SCAM (1:374/98) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 118 WINDOWS Ref: EGZ00021 Date: 12/28/97 From: CAMERON CLARK Time: 01:22am \/To: JERRY SCHWARTZ (Read 5 times) Subj: Re: Norton Utilities 3.0 JS> Well, I did install NU 3.0 today and so far have not found any real problem JS> However, here are some cautions: [stuff deleted] It's always good advise to backup your system before installing major software.
