The Seal Easy is a an example of a high volume, low pressure, cuffed mask. It is circular, clear and has a standard connection for attachment to the Flynn resuscitator or BVM. The inflated cuff (air cushion donut) is normally less than completely full and the mask is very flexible in order to accommodate a wide variety of facial shapes. There are many EMT's that like the Seal Easy type mask, and many others that like the moulded face mask such as Laerdal Pocket mask. If you prefer one to the other, could you send me an email. Also tell me *WHY* you like the type you have selected. I am doing a little study to see which one comes out on top. I'll post the results in about a week. cya...Don ps: thanks a bunch :-) dbenedict@oln.com ALS Clinical Coordinator Base Hospital Program Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada ... *Who WAS that masked mailer?* ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- FidoPCB v1.4 [ff238/x] * Origin: OnLine Now Thunder Bay ON, Canada (807)-345-1531 (1:229/510) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 197 EMERGENCY Ref: DE300003 Date: 10/02/96 From: LOU KAIRYS Time: 07:09am \/To: GARY SAFFER (Read 1 times) Subj: COMPLAINTS Gary, nice seeing your friendly face again. I am trying to resurrect the RIME conference again. We did not go to Rockport this year, as you know, and next year the four of us will be going to Boothbay Harbor the last weekend in June. Any chance you can join us up there (its about an hour from Kitery). Barbara and I have been accepted into the Phenix Team, the CISM team for North Jersey. We will be going to class shortly, so its another project for us. We have been running a lot lately and of course we have out "sales" (broke up one new Medic with that one...seems like if you get one Fx Humerus, you get three, then none for a long time). Did have one "interesting" day in July, I had a Save (no ALS as we were enroute to the hospital when it happened and we were less than a mile away), a delivery (my fifth), bitten by an EDP (slipped on that one, but it is hard to adjust an O2 Mask without going close to the mouth), plus the usual drunks and taxi rides. Life in the big city . No one would believe that we were volunteer from our call volume/ emergency/transport ratio (now running at about 85% emergency). u * 1st 2.00q #17bt + EMS is not just a ride to the hospital --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10 * Origin: RIME NetHub MoonDog BBS Bklyn,NY (1:278/230) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 197 EMERGENCY Ref: DE400000 Date: 10/04/96 From: CHAD MOSER Time: 12:42am \/To: JAMES TARPLEY (Read 1 times) Subj: Re: complaints The service is EMSA/AMR of Eastern Ok. All of my Paramedic preceptors have told me to leave work at work and home at home. I'll have to work at that. As for solutions, I don't have any concrete ones. It would be better if Uncle Sam would back out a little bit. We do need regulation, but the red tape is a little much. The services I have been with in the past were 1. a private service 2. a vol. service that received funds from donations and a cigarette tax. The service that I am with now is a public utility that sub-contracts a provider (AMR at the moment.) The show HAD its corney moments, but the show got to me... -> I just recently taped most of the episodes of Emergency off the satellite, to watch it for the first time. It's cool, considering how long ago that was and that EMS was practically non-existant.
