--------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 116 ZYXEL MODEMS Ref: EDM00008 Date: 09/11/97 From: ANDREJ TOLSTOUSOV Time: 10:52am \/To: ALL (Read 0 times) Subj: DTMF-稪 pp Hi, All! I just made DTMF-terminal programme for my company. This product is binding a corporate Clarion database with PBX system (I use CLACOM freeware library to control a modem). But I have some problem with ZyXEL voice functions. I have U-1496+, and all functions I use are supported. And I cannot make playing a voice file throught telephone line via ZyXEL. What's the trick? My configurations (all modem commands return 'OK', 'VCON', 'CONNECT' as needed) 1) xon/xoff activated (hardware and software) 2) 57kbps line speed 3) 2-bit voice scheme 4) voice recorded via firmware ZyXEL software and telephone line May be: 1) there is no voice volume on line? 2) there is no some modem command? 3) something else? If you may send me some comment or your expirience, I will be very very pleased. Peace?! --- UNREG * Origin: * Dragon Sun * (2:5020/440) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 116 ZYXEL MODEMS Ref: EDM00009 Date: 09/11/97 From: SERGEY OZEROV Time: 08:10pm \/To: DMITRY BORISOV (Read 0 times) Subj: Re: Wrong RING Hello Dmitry! My users in my BBS LE> gets confused, when they get a connect it says 31200 but when they get LE> into the BBS it says 28800. This is because of the modem, it won't say LE> connect 31200, when it is so. But it isn't, that's my point. There are two speeds, one in one direction and the other going back. If the two speeds happen not to be the same, due to line conditions, then each end will see something different. Your modem isn't lying, is it? If you do an ATI2, what does it report? Mine says Last Speed/Protocol 28800/24000/ARQ/V.34/V42b about my last connection. The connect message said Connect 28800/Arq/V.34/V42B at my end, but the other guy would have seen CONNECT 24000 most likely. Don't forget that the speed can go up and down during the connection, so the original Connect message and the Last Speed report can be quite different.
