I work with two pilots, one RNZAF-selectee, and know a few more ;) Umm, what else is there to know??? I dont know how big civil aviation is in the U.S.... Militarily, we fly the A-4K Skyhawk (original airframes with avionics up to F-16A+ standard), the Aermacchi somethingorotehr( cant remember offhand), the P-3K Orion (equiv to the C variant), the C-130 Herculese, and a coupla old Andovers... Oh, and a 727 for VIP work, and a squadron of UH-1 Iroquois float around the place :) And that about tops my limit ;) Unless I go even MORE military.... <---------------- Mark Foster, SysOp Sidewinder BBS ---------------> | blakjak@ihug.co.nz - 3:772/210 @ fidonet.org | < Callsign ZL1VMF - "Prepare for War - Strive for Peace" > ... Just in passing Bill I would think that starting the engine on TO would be an unwise thing to do. If it was feathered you are in good shape and to start it you have to unfeather it and this would cause additional drag. (something I certainly wouldn't want). Again to answer your wondering I would highly suspect that it was not approved and a really dumn thing to do. Even with an Engineer starting the engine the change in control forces and yaw and WHATEVER would be more than I would want to deal with. If and I say IF someone was going to do it I would recommend taking off with it feathered and obtaining a level cruising altitude and attempt a restart with the windmilling engine. In Jest of Course. I know that 3 and 4 engine aircraft are ferried but I know of no proceedure that would approve a 2 engine (single engine ferry). ___ X CMPQwk 1.4 #1684 X "If the enemy's in range, so are you." --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: The Politically Incorrect!
