Did anyone ever come up with a less cramped event editor that doesn't require a printed command reference to use? Break out your trusty EDLIN line editor, write a little script, and run your FILES.BBS through it replacing the "[ 0]" with "". A better answer would be for me to add a switch to UNCON179 that dispenses with counters. Give me a day or so. It's just that when we had a "plain" UNCON which only produced an "old" FILES.BBS, the whole MEADOW wanted the "fancy" UNCON.
