While I haven't seen this error (comment?) before, I have done a little programming. Looks to me like an NLM still contains a bit of debug code. Rather than looking for just new software, I'd look more carefully at ALL software executing on the server. Do you run anything custom, or not tested by Novell Labs? You might also check Support Connection on the Novell web site, in case someone has hit this one before. I presume you have verified that nothing else is opening or has opened that file at the same time, such as a backup program, or an anti-virus program. You may want to flag the files Sharable, to see if AutoCAD relaxes a bit. If you have another machine, have you tried it on the other machine? This can help tell you if it's a configuration problem on one workstation. I Lanalyzer is not a universal-protocol analyzer. It only supports a limited number of protocols and topologies. You'll see IPX and IP, for instance, but you may not see NetBEUI; you can interpret Ethernet and token ring, but not HDLC. Look at the documentation to determine which protocols and topologies are supported by your version of Lanalyzer. The message is correct. WHen you check the console, you'll find the files are exactly as described. What appears to be happening is either the programs are opportunistic, believing if you have opened a file, you'll likely to open it again and therefore they are taking a write lock on the file. Or, there is a bug in the Client32 that doesn't drop the lock. There are two ways we've found: 1) logoff the server; 2) delete the connection. Could someone perhaps help me out. Im looking for a software product, that are able to scan a mixed network. Port scan Ip, trace route etc., Making a diagram over the network and troubleshooting etc. We have a network with: Novell 3.12, Intranetware 4.11, NT 3.51, NT 4.0, SCO unix, Apple Unix, Linux, OS2 Warp, Citrix servers etc., based on ipx/spx and tcp/ip on TP. (Problem, new software only support tcp/ip not ipx/spx) The servers backbone is switched (100MB SMC Switches) (Problem here is that the switches filter packets, so it is difficult to snif the network with eg. LanAlyzer etc.) Workstations are attached to 10MB or 100MB hubs, with windows 95 or NT. There is a lot of moving around, and we are 4 people to take care of the network. There has never been done any documetation over the net :( Do any of you out there know a great software product able to solve our problem ?
