Can I just pick up the JY>312pt9.exe file and it work with whatever version I picked up last? Yes. That's all you need Jim. You only need 312PT9.EXE, you do not need any of the previous patches... and now they even make it more easy to load... their new patch loader loads the patches automatically. Get that latest patch 312PT9.EXE and you will see what I meant.... --- WILDMAIL!/WC v4.12 * Origin: Systematic BBS, Bronx, NY (718) 716-6198 (1:278/111.0) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 194 NOVELL Ref: DDF00001 Date: 09/09/96 From: COLIN TURNER Time: 12:35pm \/To: ALL (Read 5 times) Subj: Clock problems Hi Folks, I regularly sync all the workstation clocks in a network from the NetWare 3.12 server, but the RTC in the server isn't very accurate (in this case it's fast). Is there an NLM somewhere which will add/subtract x seconds to the system time every y seconds? CT. --- * Origin: The Heart Of Gold . +44 1247 274919 . V32T*VFC*HST*V34 . TH> This has happened to me as well. :- I saw another querry on this in another network. Nobody seems to have any info on this synthetic time thing. So I surfed the net and nabbed a good discussion which seems right to me. There was no author so we'll give credit to our dear friend Anonymous. Let me know if this helps. ----------------------- cut here ------------------------------ What is Synthetic Time? NetWare 4.1 returns the message on the server console "Synthetic Time is being issued on partition " when the server time has been set backwards. Directory Services uses the server time to timestamp objects. Synthetic time is issued in order to prevent objects from being time stamped incorrectly. This message is simply informational and will disappear when the server time catches up with the partition time stamps. To expedite this, the System Administrator can ensure that the server time is correct and then rebuild replicas. This must NOT be done if partitions and replicas are not synchronized. This is done in NetWare 4.1 by running DSREPAIR.NLM, choosing "Advanced Options menu," then "Replica and partition operations," choosing the partition that contains the "bad" timestamp, and then running the option "Repair Time Stamps and Declare a New Epoch." Be aware that rebuilding replicas will copy the Master replica over all other replicas. Be sure that you are not replacing a "good" copy of the partition with a "bad" copy. ------------------------- cut here ---------------------------------- * PMDBM V1.75b #14 * * Origin: FidoNet IDS Place 416-252-1133 33.6Kbs FTS/QWK (1:259/222) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 194 NOVELL Ref: DDG00000 Date: 09/10/96 From: DAVE FRICKER Time: 10:57pm \/To: ALL (Read 5 times) Subj: Novell BBS# Somebody have number for the Novell BBS?
