CD-View can be used a dedicated or non-dedicated, but I suggest dedicated... can be used on any type of CD-ROM being IDE, SCSI, proprietor interface, you just need to load the MSCDEX.EXE on the particular compouter where the cd-rom is attached.. You can have a combination of cd-rom up to 26 drives... It will look just like another server on the Novell Netware network, you can also use the hard drive on that computer as a novell volume.. This is a very nice program... Now CD-Vision: This is a dedicated only and you need 386PC with at least 4Meg RAM, you must also have at least one SCSI CD-ROM attached to this computer but you can also use them on any combination of cd-rom as CD-View including WORM drives... You can map all the cd-roms on this computer to one drive letter. You can have up to 194 cd-rom attached to one computer and share it on the Network... You can also share any amount of hard drives attached to this computer as a Novell Volume... Want more info? Go to the Internet web site of Ornetix at: http://www.ornetix.com And you can download the full working demo version of both programs, it will only support 2 devices and 2 users and it's good for 7 days enough for you to test it and see how you like... I love this program.. and I am using them on my LAN... They work great and simple to setup.... Doesn't hold true for 4.1 but those lic. files can be both installed and removed or stacked with INSTALL. Are you going to install namespace support for OS2/WIN95/MAC/etc. Any special requirements for additional Novell or 3ed party NLM's, CDROM, Tape unit, etc. There is also a hard-to-find utility called SMEM.EXE which will give you a definitive answer, however more is usually better when it comes to memory on NetWare.
