The rest of the district does not use it and we don't have enough WIN services to bother. So far we've just been using LMHOSTS files. I'm not familiar with ZONES in anything other than MAC environs. I setup a Zone for our Mac's on NT because our router is still set to pass the traffic and there is confusion with another campus. If we fix the router I assume our Mac's will need a Zone and don't know if they can create their own without a server or router. --- GEcho 1.11+ * Origin: (1:343/70) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 193 LAN Ref: F1Q00004 Date: 01/20/98 From: SCOTT PARKS Time: 07:51am \/To: MIKE BILOW (Read 3 times) Subj: NW 4.11 Mike Bilow wrote in a message to Scott Parks: MB> An exception is if you run software, such as GroupWise 5, MB> that requires an NDS locus somewhere. I messed up on the TCP/IP install and haven't figured it out yet. I suspect a different nameing/bind statement convention. NDS is really different but the utils are cool! What sort of basic functionality problems? I am totally 3com based, but my friends are LinkSys and other odd brand ased, the problem occurs when we combine the networks about every 2 months for game playing, since i just got my hardware, we'll see how it acts early/mid Feb.
