NE2000 was never the issue here... the clone cards was. Look up support on Kingston (for a specific model), ATI, Addtron, LinkSys or any of the other herd. Linux doesn't ship with dirvers until some body gets hardware given to them and they decide to write a driver and contribute it. As for BSDI, it's on the recommended hardware lists. I really don't consider free O/S's when I consider O/S support but that is because I personally don't operate in an environment where free O/S's are even a consideration. What, you don't have a boot disk handy with the NIC software on it Did the NE2000 not have jumpers? Again, a mention of A DIFFERENT DISK FOR EACH CLONE CARD was in a few posts back in this thread... the points I explain often get missed in someone's rush to jump forward and project know-it-all attitudes. I have space for about twenty disks in my workstation kit and I enjoy only three of them being network card drivers. One can not logically argue standardization on a quality product over spackled clones... if they do then don't hire them. Luckily I am a couple hours away from the Silicon Valley and have easy access to the training. The classes are $1650 for the 101 and less for the other ones.
