I think by a ram file, he means using the RAMDISK.SYS to create a 64K(?) virtual drive to quickly store the exitinfo/etc... This is obviously quicker than using the HD but then with Mode4's there's no point messing about. VH> how do you have a multi-node setup, someone told me that you needed VH> something like a ram file to make it work, i guess that they were wrong. Yup they were... :) Are these two nodes going to be on the same machine or two completely eparate ones over a LAN? Depending on which it is, you set it up differently. Gissa bell, and I'll help you out where I can. Oh sh*t, sorry dude, just saw u'r in Zone 1 hehe. Could be a bit of a big phone bill if you ring me... If u've got net access EMail me at hackatak@geocities.com and we'll go on IRC or something and do it that way :) VH> oh well. if you could could you tell me where to download shotgun??? Yo All, How's it goin'? Hey everyone, I've just come across a few things when I bought a job lot of computer network gear... Firstly, here's a list of the few things I'm not so sure about... Allied Telesis CentreCOM MX10 IEE 802.3 Micro Transeiver 10 Base 2 (MAU) Allied Telesis CentreCOM MX10S IEE 802.3 Micro Transeiver 10 Base 2 (MAU) Hewlett Packard 700/92 Terminal OK, here's a bit more info... The Transeivers both have the bog standard BNC connection on them, and also the 15 pin network adapter. And they have this little LED on and a label saying. "Heardbeat Status and Power Indicator" "Amber: Heartbeat selected On" "Green: Heartbeat selected Off" "Indicator Off: No power or connection from DTE" And that's about all I know about those.. The Hewlett Packard terminal is (by the looks of it) about say.. 6-7 years old.. Can't find an actual date... It's got ports on the back labelled "Keyboard" (which is sort of a modem socket/us phone) Printer (which is the bog standard Parallel type port) and one labelled "DataComm" (which is also - in appearance - a parallel type port). Again this is all the information I have on this terminal. So... What are the transeivers? What (use) is the HP Terminal? Can I use it as a DOS/Linux terminal from one of my main computers? Does anybody have ANY technical info on any of these? Mouchos thanks in advance..
