Good point. Makes you wonder if there is a difference in the way the INTRUDER LOCKOUT function reads a Node address and the way userlist reads the same number. If it were me I would: Remove the intruder lockout function and put a separate section in the System Login script for the pertinent login names to do a WSUPDATE and place a time stamped file down in a hidden directory on the workstation and then log them back out. You could also send them a screen that would tell them to stop messing around that Hacking the system is grounds for suspension and to put their machine back in order and get busy with their classwork. This might induce them to change the net.cfg back to normal and log back in with a normal node address and that proximate login would tell you where they are. An alternative would be to setup a router for each classroom and do a broadcast to all machines in that room that a hacking attempt has been recorded from a machine in that classroom and that all members of that class are suspect. Just a thought :-) JMC --- GEcho 1.00 * Origin: The Intelligentsian 1 908 774-3953 (1:107/410) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 193 LAN Ref: DDW00077 Date: 09/28/96 From: DAVE PETRUCCI Time: 10:21am \/To: MIKE BILOW (Read 6 times) Subj: Re: In house LAN > DP> After a discussion with LBL's author, the answer is > DP> YES and NO.... Mike, When I asked Don (LBL author) about it he said that a couple of years ago there was a lot of interest in it, but now the requests are few and far between... I got the impression that native OS/2 support was not on the top of his "to do list"...
