That mic will probably work alright, but if it doesn't go grab a Heil cartridge (they're *really* small) and replace that element with the Heil and continue on! > I have the book for the radio and know that I need to have > another PTT setup. This info MUST be II>in a block in the top of STSPLUS.SCF or it will NOT track a sat as II>anything BUT the primary! Hi Ivy, I've been reading along on this, trying to figure out how to be helpful. I think the basic problem is that you're using the wrong program. STSPLUS is a great space shuttle tracking program, but it's optimized for that and you want to do something different. Try TRAKSAT. It has a multi track mode that will track up to six satellites at a time, and you can set up several different sets of six. It's easy to do, and works great. It's available on Dave Ransom's (author of STSPLUS) web site, so whoever got that for you can get this too. I hope this will ease your frustration. :) 73 de WA6BIL ___ X QMPro 1.53 X Fear the government that fears your guns. --- Maximus 3.01 * Origin: Long_Island RB VAX/EC (V34/HST) [310] 370-4113 (1:102/138) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: EGL00013 Date: 12/17/97 From: ROY WITT Time: 08:00am \/To: MARK MAGILL (Read 0 times) Subj: j-pole ?? I don't know why you would bother as long as you can restrain yourself from using the upper 2 MHz. If the radio has a cpu and the frequency range is controlled by a diode matrix AND you have the factory schematic with the radio, it will have all of the possible matrixes for each countries wierd bandplans. Australia, U.S. and I believe Europe are covered on the same schematic. At least it is with Icoms. AV> On 70cm the range is OK (430 - 440 Mhz) AV> Does anybody have a modification to do this job??? Hi Ivy, II->Please don't be offended, but I find that I can get "the big picture" est II->by seeing a "swarm" of sats tracking on a full-screen display. After II->STSPLUS has been displaying a screen for a few minutes, showing where the II->different sats have been and which way they are going, you can pretty ell II->see what's going to be within your circle of visibility within the next II->hour or so, and that's what I am after. I'm not that easily offended, hi. I have been using PCTrack with good results and showing all the sats I've been interested in without any difficulties setting it up. It shows the ground track and the access area for each one. OTOH, I don't have the requirement that it *must* show the map like mission control. But it has at least two different map views. tnx 73 gl es merry xmas de OH0NC sk Sam * OLX 2.2 * I hate to repeat gossip, so I'll only say this once. --- PCBoard (R) v15.22/M 2 * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
