It's great, I've been running mine for 2 weeks now...no problems at all! getting 28.8k connects with everything I'm supposed to. I've run zfax 4.0 and it runs fine also. I've installed the Trio fax/voice/data software for windows, but haven't mastered it yet..its seems to do what its supposed to. But, the modem is of the same high quality that I'm used to from Zero One! Buy it, you won't be sorry! Donn --- RA 2.02+/FMAIL 1.02+ * Origin: The Diving Board, Glen Allen, VA. Doug very kindly crashed ZFAX325 to me at his expense today. He managed a 24000 connect from I assume his new ZyXEL to my locally made rockwell based V34 modem (which is a terrible modem). On a line with a good noise margin but restricted bandwidth due to long access lines or some other reason, these can be used to give higher connect speeds than otherwise possible with the current version of V.34. With V.34: Think symbol rate, think frequency bandwidth required. Think number of bits per symbol, think Signal to Noise ratio required. --- msgedsq 2.1 * Origin: Camelot Swamp MJCNA, Hawthorndene, Sth Australia (3:800/812) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 116 ZYXEL MODEMS Ref: CCV00005 Date: 08/23/95 From: JOE SCHWEIER Time: 08:55pm \/To: JOEL ERICKSON (Read 2 times) Subj: Zyxel voice > I got ZFAX340.ZIP from the FTP site. On the other hand I've had problems with GVC users (28.8 V.34) connecting....like giving birth. I'd get no better than 21600...at best...as low as 16.8 as well. I told ZyXEL tech support and gave them the number to the modem to call. The fax & caller ID work fine as well. I have the commercial version of FrontDoor (a bbs mailer) it works with ZyXEL's for data & fax stuff...got a fax today and it worked nice....the caller ID has loged every users number since i had it in place... > I know that I am hard pressed to justify the cost of > one of these > babies. There were some other disks (6 in total) such as drivers and the flash program...drivers for hooking up the modem to the printer port...Anyway, That's all I can say.
