IF not, you may post it on HAM_TECH provided you add this simple statement / warning along with your call signs: "This modification will allow the transceiver to transmit out of the legal Amateur Radio frequency bands. It is your responsibility concerning the operation of the transceiver on frequency bands outside your legal Amateur Radio Bands." I will see MARS/CAP call signs included for MARS/CAP mods. 4) No Citizen's Band (CB) radio discussions except conversions to Amateur Radio. 5) For sale items belong on for sale echos. They were smaller than EL34s I think. If not, EL34s should work. Again, minor differences but of course a purist would want the original type. I will look for AM on 29 MHz when the cycle gets closer to the peak. I have AM capability albeit with my IC-721. And I have an amplifier so shouldn't have any problem getting out. I would like to get a TS-930S. Might you know of one gathering dust or somehow for sale? I don't like the newer fancy rigs, too hard to work on and too complex. I have worked a ton of DX with my simple rigs, but would like a nicer receiver. 73 DE K6DDX --- Maximus 3.00 * Origin: Mysteria * Tujunga, Ca * 818-353-8891 (1:102/943) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: EC300001 Date: 08/01/97 From: DEFOREST SPARKS Time: 07:55am \/To: BILL RISTER (Read 0 times) Subj: This Echo BR> What does bug me is certain individuals who use their best Texas BR> drawl (and I am a native Texan too) to state they are monitoring BR> repeatedly ..even if they know others are using the frequency. DP> Since when? DP> VE7PDL Not sure when Dave but I've heard VE3 stations as low as 3600 on ssb,and some even plow into the US novice band at 3700 on voice as well. I follow RIC25 guidelines for the bands and try to avoid causing any problems around the cw portions of 80 or 160m by giving the cw `windows' a good 20Kc distance away from them. Most people abide by `gentleman's' agreements to avoid specific areas and let the mode already there go forth in peace, but then some just roll around the dial looking for a `quiet' place to park and yack when the contesters blow through their QSO's. RAC is now reviewing a plan for Canadian HF spectrum use,but I have not heard much about what they are up to on the subject. My comments on their `proposed band-plan' for 2m is they should have done some more listening on some of those frequencies they decided to turn over to packet and digital modes as there were simplex and weak signal stuff already there. Like a 2m ssb net being disrupted by someone running a bit too much power on the local packet node too close to the ssb area to start a mini-war on 2m. --- GoldED 2.42.G1219 * Origin: VE3SJN....Moderator....HAM_TECH (1:163/506.4)
