He's come up with a plan now to use a DTMF decoder chip instead that is "fail safe" (dangerous word) at decoding the tones and has got it successfully decoding on the test bench. Now it remains to disable the decoder in the device, and insert the new. Thanks to all for help and info on this. HELP with commands for Remote Database Query The Remote Database Query system allows any node with a FIDO node number, or any internet user to send a low(no) cost routed-netmail message, or e-mail, to query the database AND have the system send back a routed NetMail message(or e-mail) to the requestor. A. How to access HAMLIB Enter a netmail message to HAMLIB at 1:261/1352 (Note: make sure YOUR origin address is a current FIDO node number, or a valid Internet address!!). If you're calling from the internet, address the message to: HAMLIB@fido261.qis.net. The subject can be anything of your choice. NOTE: HAMLIB can process 1 query per message, for multuple queries, you MUST send multiple messages. B. Query Commands in Message Body In the body of the message, you have 2 command types, FILE: and FIND: which are used as follows: FILE: database{.dbf} [the extension is optional] FIND: search text [this is not case sensitive] [enter .ALL for all records] This will send a message back to you with the results. Example: You want to find all manuals available for Drake Equipment. FILE: HAMLIB FIND: Drake Example: You want to find all manual that are modifications FILE: HAMLIB FIND: modification C. Additional Query Commands in Message Body Alternate commands issued under the FIND: command type: .LF -or- .LIST FILES This returns a list of available database files. For this command a FILE: entry is not required. Example Message Text: > The system will send you a list FIND: .LF > of available Database files. .? -or- .HELP This returns a message containing this HELP text. For this command a FILE: entry is not required. Example Message Text: FIND: .HELP > The system will send you this help > File. FIND: .LF > The system will send you a list of available Database Files. Alternate commands issued under the FILE: command type: .LS -or- .LIST STRUCTURE This returns a file structure for the database in FILE: Example Message Text: FILE: HAMLIB >You've specified HAMLIB.DBF and FIND: .LS >asked for a listing of the structure Submitting YOUR entries The database makes use of abbreviations, which are then expanded for the query. ********************************************************************** * THE HAMLIB DATABASE ABBREVIATIONS * * Based on the HAM_TECH ECHO TECHNICAL LIBRARY * ********************************************************************** DESCRIPTION op-operations manual bull-service bulletin svc-service manual assm-assembly instruction inst-instruction manual man-manual tech-technical supplement own-owner's manual sch-schematic sht-operation sheet mod-modification qrc-quick reference card ********************************************************************** CODE C-copy, O-original Copy means you get a copy of a copy, keep this in mind. ********************************************************************** COND E-excellent, G-good, F-Fair, P-poor ********************************************************************** Your listing in the HAMLIB database can be submitted in the following ways: FidoNet Thom LaCosta 1:261/1352 InterNet thom@fido261.qis.net MODEL : T-4XB ] 14 Characters DESC : Drake T-4XB,own ] 30 Characters CODE : O/G ] 3 Characters - See above MANUAL : Owner Manual ] 21 Characters WHO : Thom LaCosta/N3WDV ] 25 Characters FIDO : 1:261/1352 ] 12 Characters INTERNET : thom@fido261.qis.net ] 35 Characters PHONE : (410) 528-1771 ] 13 Characters Thanks for using HAMLIB Thom LaCosta N3WDV PS> PS> --- PS> ___ MsgToss 2.0d(beta) 02/21/93 PS> - Origin: Freedom Infonet * (609) 586-4847 (1:266/305) Thom LaCosta K3HRN thom@fido261.qis.net Our Business is Business --- * Origin: HQ AmberNet & Netland (1:261/1352) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: E4Z00001 Date: 04/27/97 From: RAY BROWN KB0STN Time: 10:22pm \/To: ROB DENNIS (Read 3 times) Subj: re: I got this ideer... > Get your hands on a RadioShack scanner discone and modify > it for 6m. > Simple as adding a 54" whip to the top of it and trim for > low SWR on 6m. So, for about $80, I could have one antenna that does unity on 6m down to 900 MHz? Hmmm. I'll have to consider this one. But, I think I might be more persuaded to just do a double copper cactus. I just want to work some 6m soon. I have a 6 dipole, but it's inside. I dunno. Too many decisions! :-) _Ray_ KB0STN --- Squish v1.11 * Origin: Deep Space 417 - Exploring The Final Frontier... I will need to get a user id for my system to use for the link. I am going to sign up a new account as "tbf bbs" to use for linking. Please validate this as soon as possible so I can test it. I had to make a couple of changes on my end, but it should work. The only thing the new account will need is access to the chat area. I will check back with you later today.
