I am reasonably sure that you should be able to take these measurements and just shorten them by a few millimetres for 440MHz. Generally speaking, 2nd and 3rd generation long yagis only require modifying the element lengths when building them for a different frequency in the same band. However, if you are able to find the original design lengths, use them instead. I would appreciate knowing them as well. The RIW19 will be about .8 dB down from the newer designs. However, it will still "spank" most commercial offerings of the same boomlength, with the exception of the Tonna 21. I have a good DUBUS article on the subject of calculated G/T for 70cm arrays. I recently build the super J antenna. And I replaced my 5/8 base with it. The problem is that I now have more noise from my PC than with my 5/8. What do you think of putting some 1/4 wave radials to it ? I think that the opening angle of my 5/8 is much smaller downward as it is for my Super J. With adding the radials tot the Super J, I hope to make the opening angle much smaller downward as before... Can you help me out with this ? Thanks in advance... Ive noticed a signal in the packet/rtty portion of 20 meters that sounds a lot like slow hopping spread spectrum. It's a very raspy whine and is about 75 khz wide when present. Is it ham or another commercial interloper? Im trying to ID the modulation, but it does not fit any of the 'normal' modes Ive heard there. On the spectrum analyzer it is indeed hopping freqs, but I thought spread was 'supposed' to be confined to vhf and above...
