I was wondering about this, though I realize by the time the signal gets to the speaker, the signal cannot be converted to a video signal. You need to use heavy wire straight from the battery to carry the current without a voltage drop or temperature rise (fire). The negative line is fused just in case one of the ground straps between the various parts of the frame and body fail and the negative lead on you radio becomes the return path for all of the electrical system.(fire hazard again) Most auto parts stores sell battery post estensions for top and side termminal batterys, which allow you to make a clean professional looking installation. 73 de KE4QOK Bob * SLMR 2.1a * Circular Definition: see Definition, Circular. --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10 Beta * Origin: 1:275/102 (1:275/102) --------------- FIDO MESSAGE AREA==> TOPIC: 188 HAM TECH Ref: DDD00004 Date: 09/07/96 From: GARY SMITH Time: 11:45am \/To: ROB DENNIS (Read 8 times) Subj: Jammers. -=> Quoting Rob Dennis to Gary Smith <=- GS> Hello Rob, GS> I'm really looking forward to this posting. I also think these people have too much time on their hands, and it isn't getting a contructive focus. I'm sure the city jail could focus some of their time..hi..hi. I think our local jammer has been squelched. I haven't heard him for a couple of nights. I don't know the details yet, but I know he was actively being hunted. It was suspected that he was operating with a stolen HT. The owner had just got it and had only had time to program the few repeaters that this twit was hammering. With any luck at all this fellow will experience his fair share of public embarrassment. I still look forward to you posting. Have a nice weekend.
