I'm a bit far to just run out and go visit my local "english speaking" ham store. Any information that can be passed about this radio would be a great help. (I have seen one here but its a /s model for Japan). If you have seen these and can scan them for me, you can netmail me here at 6:733/9 Secondly, I am curious does anyone have the formulas needed to make a 4 or 5 element quad antenna for 2 meters, I need at least at least 2 measurements, and I cant find a source that tells me any of them. I am in need of: Wire length for each element /or support length from center. Space between each element. On this project would fiberglass rods or plexyglass rods be better for support elements too (for outdoor use). Thanks in advance for any help. PP>How's retirement? I tried to call you at work but found you were done th It's great! I recomend it to all my friends. Actually, I love my (past tense---LOVED) job very much and would have kept at it forever but realized that 3 to 5 years max down the road I'd have to give it up due to age and financial benefits. So all good things come to and end even getting paid an obnoxious amount of money to have fun. But retirement has it's own rewards. I can do what ever I want when I want. Like living part time in Europe and Ireland. See my new call---EI4VSK. Just got back last nite from trip to Florida. The other thing is playing the stock market which I couldn't do while travelling at the Company's whim. I really like my new hobby, it's so rewarding. HI! PP>all that work stuff. At any rate, I'm trying very hard to PP>find more information about the amplifier that I purchased I understand. As I told you the reason more Sigmas were not made is that they hit the market about the same time the FCC enacted the rule about no 10 meter capability unless type accepted. The design does not lend itself to some sort of lock out of the 10 mtr band. Sigma was a shoe string joint venture between myself, Amateur Wholesale Electronics of Miami (long since defunt) and a Japanese private brand manufacturer who made the units for us. I designed it and AWE marketed it. That sheet of instructions is all there is and really there is not much more that can be said about the amplifier. It is NOT a rocket science design. PP>off you (Sigma). Other than having to replace one of the PP>3-500z Really sorry about that. In retrospect you should have filed a claim with UPS for the new tube. I also share some of the blame for not packing them separately---hind sight. I am pleased you like the amp and that it does good for you. I am very proud of it and still think it is as good or better than ETO or Alpha. True it pushes the 3-500Z to its limit but in amateur service they should last years...and they have. I've run mine without mercy at 3kw input and been very happy with the tube service life at least 3000 hours. The best part (for me) is that such old technology yielded what is by today's standards a very tough and compact unit. Nice to hear from you and don't be a stranger. I'm here most of the time and if the phone is not answered it's because I'm in Vienna or Cork or some such place. Just wait a few weeks and call again. 73, Dick * SLMR 2.1a * Back Up My Hard Drive?
